Blender are currently in version 2.49b-7 in the reposity. The update would allow users to better use blender. http://www.blendernation.com/2011/04/13/blender-2-57-released/#utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Blendernation+%28BlenderNation%29 thank you from the users :)

I don't think we'll be able to ship the blender-2.5x series for now. It requires python-3.2 and we use python-2.7.x. From the CMakeLists.tx file: if(WITH_PYTHON) set(PYTHON ${LIBDIR}/python) set(PYTHON_VERSION 3.2)
Indeed, if it asks an integration of python3, rather for the next version then.
Severity: normal => minor
To be more accurate, blender can be compiled without python support; the problem is, this may disable some features of blender (the ones that depend on python support).
Correction: according to ghibo: «Well, some blender dev told me the UI of blender 2.5x is written in python 3.2, so this particular version of python is a requirement. Have you checked the package startup before uploading?» c.f. https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=63092#c2
