Description of problem: Although firefox 14 enables WebM and H264(is enabled default?), any html5 video cannot be playbacked properly. They have sound, but they don't have video. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: After an update, any html5 video can't work any time. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open the ff14 2.ensure that go to www.youtube.com/html5 to ensure that html5 is enabled. 3. Try to play some videos. 4. And go to mozilla official web page. 5. There is a promotion video about ff, and it is also HTML5 video, play it.
Created attachment 3151 [details] There is a screenshot to show this problem. The screenshot shows that the mozilla offical I played was already in about 1 minute. However, the video was still on the first second. I think it is even a title picture without video.

Do you have the gstreamer packages from the tainted repository installed?

(In reply to comment #3) > Do you have the gstreamer packages from the tainted repository installed? Yes, I have. I can use Totem(the Gnome Movie Player) to play MP4 or something like that. And the Chromium can work well in html5, although it does not support h.264.
Working fine here, with firefox-17.0.1-3.mga2 on Mageia 2 x86-64. $ ll /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ total 20028 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 102648 Apr 18 2012 gecko-mediaplayer-dvx.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 102648 Apr 18 2012 gecko-mediaplayer-qt.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 102648 Apr 18 2012 gecko-mediaplayer-rm.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 106736 Apr 18 2012 gecko-mediaplayer.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 106744 Apr 18 2012 gecko-mediaplayer-wmp.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 19223504 Dec 11 16:55 libflashplayer.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 18712 Aug 5 14:38 libgnome-shell-browser-plugin.so* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 41 Jul 27 05:12 libjavaplugin.so -> /etc/alternatives/libjavaplugin.so.x86_64* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 6048 Jul 13 13:17 librhythmbox-itms-detection-plugin.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 106600 Sep 17 00:20 libtotem-cone-plugin.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 111304 Sep 17 00:20 libtotem-gmp-plugin.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 77560 Sep 17 00:20 libtotem-mully-plugin.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 86248 Sep 17 00:20 libtotem-narrowspace-plugin.so* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 149984 Jun 24 06:50 libvlcplugin.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 34516 Dec 11 16:55 LICENSE.flashplayer -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 47640 Sep 27 22:38 mozplugger.so* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4009 Dec 11 16:55 README.flashplayer -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 77376 Aug 9 22:07 skypebuttons.so*

However, I don't think gnome-mplayer and its firefox plugins are a big deal of html5 video playback. Isn't it? Whatever, after installing these, it still can't work.
I would like to report that I'm having the same issue with FF 17.0.1 ESR on Mga3 Alpha2, Gnome 3.6. x86-32! I'm not home at this moment to check the /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/. I guess I would check /lib32 instead of 64 also. Thnx.

I posted this in the Mga forum also and have a link with my screenshot about this issue. https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=3978 Thnx.
Is this still valid?
If this doesn't work for anyone, see if you have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg installed.
I'll have to check it out later when I'm home. I do have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg installed, I think I got an update for it yesterday or today. But I can't say if I had gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg installed when I posted initially.
