Description of problem: Live KDE DVD installer doesn't boot on Dell Vostro 3750. The GRUB menu appears, and no matter if I select install or boot, after some seconds of seeing the mageia logo the screen goes black with a blinking cursor at the top left corner. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Live mageia 3 alpha 3 KDE DVD installer. How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Burn the image into a DVD 2. Boot with it 3. Select install or boot 4. See blank screen.
what is your graphic card ? can you paste the output of lspcidrake -v ? better result if you start if failback mode ?
Created attachment 3134 [details] lspcidrake -v output
It's an hybrid one: ATI Radeon HD + integrated Intel. Attaching the lspcidrake output. How do I start it ? It has been so long since I had an issue like this one that I don't remember how :)
it's the installer that does'nt boot or after ? for the first reboot ? does it work when you try what is suggested in the mga2 errata ? https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_2_Errata#Proprietary_graphics_card_drivers
It's the installer or the desktop when selecting the boot option. I'm going to try the errata options and report back.
Ok, booting with xdriver=intel works in both boot and install options.
