oops none of installer is working actually, looks like it's something about qemu?
Comment 2 ra oeai 2012-11-17 12:03:07 CET
yes something wrong with setting i've changed phenom CPU to QEMU 32bit and machine type to standart pc 0,11 from just standart pc

not a duplicate of bug 2038 ? (it is in the errata)
so if you add 'text' at the prompt ?

nah, this is something with architecture
none of installer is working it begins linux kernell booting, then blink black screen with some words of installer but then back to the installer first screen - select.
i think that this can be a qemu problem but not really sure, so if someone will get same problem - just need to change the CPU type and probably set the standard PC 0,11 option not sure which one helped actually.
the text regime as for is the same as the gui mode - is it the same?
Comment 5 ra oeai 2012-11-17 14:39:38 CET
well i think that installator was trying to identify CPU and it was 64bit, but the whole system architecture was 32bit set, so it was trying to load the 64bit kernel but no instructions was actually working and that's why it was resetting
well for that type of errors i've already told that you should give the opportunity of changing the architecture installed, so in auto mode it is goes as it is now, but with an option of changing to x32 or x64 i guess sometimes there will be the 386+ back again ; )

So we can close as invalid since it was trying 64bit install on 32bit?

well it is actually can be changed somehow, of course not a usual and i really don't know, if you can try qemu CPU phenom + 32bit OS and try to install it you can probably get this error, well yes it takes time, especially when don't know why it is not installing, so this is my conclusion that it is happened because of architecture but really the problem is in installator because it is identifying the CPU but not identyfying that this is QEMU, so for VM (they got some substring i believe) i would create a little modified installator that will give that ability of changing OS arch.
really it is a little disappointing that it is not installing. and frustrating as well so i thought to not to use it for some time at least.
and the real thing for me as sa was to create a fresh install with needed for me arch to install on another not so powerful CPU.
The solution can be a simple text string --i386 --x64 to installer mode
well it's up to you to close it.

Just to be clear: are you using 32bit or 64 bit installer or dual arch cd?
Comment 9 ra oeai 2012-12-11 10:14:16 CET
dual arch cd, because of minimum system reqs
Comment 10 ra oeai 2012-12-11 10:15:05 CET
there's no other 700mb CD of mageia - am i wrong with this?
Comment 11 Thierry Vignaud 2012-12-11 11:32:25 CET
live CDs are ~700mb big.
Live CDs have boot, isolinux, loopbacks notably at their root.
Dual arch CD has syslinux, i586 and x86_64 as its root.
Comment 12 ra oeai 2012-12-11 12:59:58 CET
ah i c, but the error was not on CD boot, but after choosing the installation method.
Comment 13 Thierry Vignaud 2012-12-11 13:25:25 CET
This is to be sure what you used: live cd or dual arch cd ?
Comment 14 ra oeai 2012-12-12 01:31:22 CET
dual arch cd is set in both of mine VMs, so iguess i didnt changed it and it was dual arch by that time
