With that package installed, the NM is not working anymore. Wired connection connects, but then no data is going there (usual msg is destination address unreachable), wifi connects and after 1-200 sec. disconnects, 3G stick is connecting but then DNS is not working.

no, but I have realized that this was because wpa_supplicant for some reason ran twice...
