Since the bug above in mandriva i have changed the PC too with a new one I have these rpm installed: dcp195clpr-1.1.3-1 dcp195ccupswrapper-1.1.3-1
I have a dcp-110c connected to an old ubuntu server, with the lpr and cupswrapper brother drivers. It has a scanner on top, old multifunction thing. I find that it needs usblp kernel module loaded for the printer to work but that the scanner will only work when usblp is removed. usblp was blacklisted in Mageia 2 as it can interfere with recent versions of cups, you can try to load it though using 'modprobe usblp' as root and if you find that solves the problem for you then remove the blacklist by deleting /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-cups-common.conf
Unfortunately it did nt help. Now i am not able to make it work , i cgange the usb port several times but the printer it is not be recognized
I bought another printer (hp photosmart 5520)
