Description of problem: I cannot remove usbmuxd package (used to connect ipod/iphone) without breaking my system: urpme usbmuxd-1.0.8-2.mga3.x86_64 To satisfy dependencies, the following 94 packages will be removed (192MB): abridged... Cheers, Chris.
The problem seems to be that upower is linked with libimobiledevice.so.3, not sure if we can do anything about it at packaging level...

Is this dep really needed? [colin@jimmy shared]$ rpm -e usbmuxd error: Failed dependencies: usbmuxd >= 1.0.8 is needed by (installed) lib64usbmuxd2-1.0.8-2.mga3.x86_64 i.e. does the library really need the binary? It's likely useless without it, but it's arguably not needed per-se. That said usbmuxd is pretty small only 80k. Not sure how much it would really save in the long run.

Hi guys, yes, usbmuxd is small so it is not problematic in itself but it may create in the future another chain of unnecessary dependencies. I think we should try to clean it, if this is not impossible of course. Cheers, Chris.
Still valid? Any progress?

You can always ask for freeze push. This is pretty bad bug and would get submitted.
