Description of problem:

When running X with the nv driver on an nVidia GeForce2 MX/MX400 video card there is a magenta strip along the top and bottom edges of the display.

1.  Use XFdrake to configure the nv driver

this driver is no more supported upstream so you'd better try the 'nouveau' driver I think

That is bad news, neither the nvidia nor the nouveau driver works for me on either my 210 card or my old GF2 MX/MX400 card.

Closing as OLD (IIRC the nvidia driver works for you now).
