Blender has Jack transport support for audio since 2.5 but it is not activated in Mageia (Blender 2.63 on Mageia 2 and 2.64 on Cauldron). This support is very important for professional audio/video sync, if for instance you want to edit your video in Blender and your audio in Ardour or other. To add the support, simply add "-DWITH_JACK=ON" on the cmake command. Then BuildRequires: lib64jack-devel

It has not been included in the blender 2.65a build for Mageia 3, so it's sad. ;-( Note though that when Mageia will update to blender 2.67, this won't be necessary anymore to have it as a build option, because from this version jack lib presence is checked as a dynamic option: http://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-committers/2013-April/039989.html When this day will come, it would be good if the blender package maintainer could test it works though. :-)
(In reply to Jehan Hysseo from comment #1) > > When this day will come, it would be good if the blender package maintainer > could test it works though. :-) David, can you check if Blender now has jack support and if so close this bug report as FIXED or OLD?

jack support is 100% activated on blender since 2.73a version during mga5 development: http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/blender/current/SPECS/blender.spec?r1=813064&r2=813063&pathrev=813064 with "-DWITH_JACK:BOOL=ON" cmake option. # for mga5 $ urpmq --requires blender |grep 'libjack' libjack.so.0()(64bit) So Cauldron and mga5 have jack support enabled, but not mga4.
Thanks, so unless you want to make an update for Mageia 4 now (one week before the EOL, I wouldn't advise it ;)), you can mark the bug as resolved.
So ok, closing of this bug as resolved since mga5. :)
