Is this still an issue with mageia 3 final release? the above log is with an old xorg server, old kernel and old fglrx driver
Please, give me some time. I did not install Mageia 3 from the final release image. I'm continuing to using it from upgrades. I don't expect the problem is fixed, because of AMD policy.
The system don't start after fresh installation of Mageia 3 and using proprioretary driver as it was proposed by installer. It fininshes with message "Reached target graphical interface". I hear radeon's fan very well. There is no possibility for virtual console so I only can guess that I have the same error. Note, in the kernel 3.8 there is a regression in vga_switcheroo for A+I in free radeon driver as well. I can not switch to it from intel. This is very bad news for me and this laptop, because I can not use the display port, at least, and no comments about fast 3d graphics
Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago. http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/ Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
