Since the update to kernel-desktop-3.4.15-1.mga2 in Core_Updates_Testing on my Laptop ASUS K73S ,the bluetooth radio module not working now ,it is not recognized by the good driver. While the kernel-desktop-3.3.6 and 3.3.8 it worked and was recognized by the good driver. KDE4 says me :No Bluetooth adapters have been found. ------------------------------------------------------------------- With the kernel-desktop-3.4.15-1.mga2 : # lspcidrake -v atl1c : Atheros Communications Inc.|AR8151 v2.0 Gigabit Ethernet [NETWORK_ETHERNET] (vendor:1969 device:1083 subv:1043 subd:1851) (rev: c0) ath9k : Atheros Communications Inc.|AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter [NETWORK_OTHER] (vendor:168c device:0032 subv:1a3b subd:2c97) (rev: 01) Card:NVIDIA GeForce 400 series and later: nVidia Corporation|Device 105a [DISPLAY_VGA] (vendor:10de device:105a subv:1043 subd:2112) (rev: a1) i2c_i801 : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller [SERIAL_SMBUS] (vendor:8086 device:1c22 subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 05) ahci : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 port SATA AHCI Controller [STORAGE_SATA] (vendor:8086 device:1c03 subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 05) iTCO_wdt : Intel Corporation|HM65 Express Chipset Family LPC Controller [BRIDGE_ISA] (vendor:8086 device:1c49 subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 05) ehci_hcd : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #1 [SERIAL_USB] (vendor:8086 device:1c26 subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 05) shpchp : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 6 [BRIDGE_PCI] (vendor:8086 device:1c1a) (rev: b5) shpchp : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 2 [BRIDGE_PCI] (vendor:8086 device:1c12) (rev: b5) shpchp : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 1 [BRIDGE_PCI] (vendor:8086 device:1c10) (rev: b5) snd_hda_intel : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (vendor:8086 device:1c20 subv:1043 subd:1aa3) (rev: 05) ehci_hcd : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 [SERIAL_USB] (vendor:8086 device:1c2d subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 05) mei : Intel Corporation|6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 [COMMUNICATION_OTHER] (vendor:8086 device:1c3a subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 04) Card:Intel 810 and later: Intel Corporation|2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [DISPLAY_VGA] (vendor:8086 device:0116 subv:1043 subd:1682) (rev: 09) shpchp : Intel Corporation|Xeon E3-1200/2nd Generation Core Processor Family PCI Express Root Port [BRIDGE_PCI] (vendor:8086 device:0101) (rev: 09) unknown : Intel Corporation|2nd Generation Core Processor Family DRAM Controller [BRIDGE_HOST] (vendor:8086 device:0104 subv:1043 subd:1237) (rev: 09) Unable to read modalias from /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1/1-1.1/modalias Unable to read modalias from /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1/1-1.2/modalias hub : Linux 3.4.15-desktop-1.mga2 ehci_hcd|EHCI Host Controller [Hub|Unused|Full speed (or root) hub] (vendor:1d6b device:0002) hub : Intel Corp.|Integrated Rate Matching Hub [Hub|Unused|Full speed (or root) hub] (vendor:8087 device:0024) Mouse:evdev : Logitech|USB Receiver [Human Interface Device|Boot Interface Subclass|Mouse] (vendor:046d device:c521) hub : Genesys Logic, Inc.|USB2.0 Hub [Hub|Unused|Full speed (or root) hub] (vendor:05e3 device:0606) usb_storage : JMicron|MEDION HDDrive2GO [Mass Storage|SCSI|Bulk-Only] (vendor:152d device:2336) unknown : Hewlett-Packard|HP Color LaserJet CM1015 (vendor:03f0 device:4217) hub : Linux 3.4.15-desktop-1.mga2 ehci_hcd|EHCI Host Controller [Hub|Unused|Full speed (or root) hub] (vendor:1d6b device:0002) hub : Intel Corp.|Integrated Rate Matching Hub [Hub|Unused|Full speed (or root) hub] (vendor:8087 device:0024) usbcore : Atheros Communications|Bluetooth USB Host Controller [Wireless|Radio Frequency|Bluetooth] (vendor:13d3 device:3362) uvcvideo : 04G6200086K1AN1CM000EF8|ASUS USB2.0 WebCam [Video|Video Control] (vendor:058f device:a014)

Can you attach /var/log/dmesg from both booting with kernel-3.3 and kernel-3.4

With the kernel-desktop-3.4.17-1.mga2 ,always the same problem.
Hello Thomas , No news about this problem ?
Do you have kernel-firmware-nonfree installed? I see this in 3.4.16 log: [ 11.830393] usbcore: registered new interface driver btusb [ 11.835076] Bluetooth: Patch file not found ar3k/AthrBT_0x01020200.dfu [ 11.835079] Bluetooth: Loading patch file failed [ 11.835083] ath3k: probe of 1-1.1:1.0 failed with error -2
No I haven't kernel-firmware-nonfree installed on my system , should I install it?
If you want bluetooth to work on 3.4 series yes. Install it and reboot on 3.4 series kernel and confirm it works (or not)
Created attachment 3072 [details] dmesg file booting kernel-3.4.18-1.mga2 Thanks Thomas , With kernel-firmware-nonfree installed on my system now the Bluetooth radio module Atheros works fine. Mageia release 2 (Official) for x86_64 Kernel 3.4.18-desktop-1.mga2 on a 4-processor x86_64

Just a parenthesis, Thomas : When I boot on Mageia 2 I immediately have a message on a black screen, and those since the release of Mageia 2: "No valid VBIOS image found" looking in the dmesg file you can see: [ 3.826483] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: Checking PRAMIN for VBIOS [ 3.874582] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: ...
