Description of problem: Mageia 3 Alpha 2 Test Computer: Dell D630 Laptop with Intel Graphics. Graphic chip set commonly known as GM965 Express Chipset and listed in BIOS as Intel Crestline Graphics with BIOS version 1588 When booting off either Live GNOME DVD_ROM (i586 or x86_64) screen goes to black after a short period and all user input has no effect except the Power button. After the screen has gone black and then waiting for the DVD-ROM to cease being accessed, pressing the Power button once, wakes up the system and the DVD-ROM is accessed again leading the user to believe the system will shut down (even though the screen is still black). System does not shut down and a power cycle is needed (by holding down the Power button until the system shuts down). If the user presses the ESC key immediately after the "cauldron" screen graphic appears to view the boot progress in text, the last line displayed before the screen goes black is: "Starting LSB: Waiting for hot plugged network to be up..." Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 3 Alpha 2 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot off either Live GNOME DVD_ROM (i586 or x86_64) 2. Wait until screen goes black 3. Press Power button. 4. Press and hold Power button to power cycle system. Alternate Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot off either Live GNOME DVD_ROM (i586 or x86_64) 2. Press the ESC key immediately after the "cauldron" screen graphic appears. 3. Note last line of text to be dosplayed is "Starting LSB: Waiting for hot plugged network to be up..." 4. Wait until screen goes black 3. Press Power button. 4. Press and hold Power button to power cycle system.
All: I am adding the Mageia 3 Alpha 2 LIVE CD-ROM GNOME (Mageia-3-alpha2-LiveCD-GNOME-en-i586-CD.iso) to this bug report as it exhibits the same problem. Thanks Jeffrey Bruton

Manuel: Sorry I should have checked that. I believe what you mean is the "Safe Settings" option under F6, correct? With either repro method listed originally, and "Safe Settings" selected using F6, the system now hangs with a blinking cursor after the same line mentioned above: "Starting LSB: Waiting for hot plugged network to be up..." Thanks Jeffrey Bruton
Sorry but release media for M3 and M4 will not change. Please reopen should you see the same with M5+. Thanks
