I would like to report this happening with the 32bit Gnome 3 also. I installed it from the LiveCD on 10/31/12. Nothing showing about it in in ~/.cache/gdm/session.log Thnx.

Are there any new updates on this issue? Which calendar does it suppose to use? Is there a way to get google calendar to work with it. I think I posted in the forums or opened a bug report ticket for new suggestion on the google calendar. Thnx.

(In reply to comment #8) > is evolution installed ? Yes, I do have Evolution installed.
This happens because /usr/share/applications/evolution-calendar.desktop lacks "Categories" entry. Adding it manually (ex., copying from evolution.desktop) fixes the issue: Categories=GNOME;GTK;Email;X-Red-Hat-Base;Network;

Fixed in Cauldron. I'm curious why haven't it been fixed in upstream? Maybe in newer GNOME that "Category" attribute is not mandatory.
