Description of problem: In KDE the default behaviour of the mouse is the single clic. Why in Mageia (and older in Mandriva) the default behaviour of the mouse in KDE is double clic ? I propose to keep the default KDE setting for Mageia too. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
I think it should kept double-click for Mageia 1. After the Mageia first release is out, a poll should be created (hopefully there'll be more users), and the result of the poll should decide which should be the default. Also I think, all DE's in Mageia should have the same default mouse click setting, i.e. it's single in all of them or double in all of them....
I agree, but normaly such settings should be left as they are by default. E.g. we can read in the documentation "If you are used to having to double-click to perform an action, then take care, because in common with the rest of KDE, Konqueror defaults to single-clicking." and in the other hand if we use KDE is because we are comfortable with the hole KDE philosophy. So, i am not agree that the default behaviour of the mouse clic should follow all desktops.
"default" is a relative word; it's been double click for ages in Mandriva, so any user upgrading expects it to be double-click. Having the same click settings across DE's is logical, not all users use just one DE. Again, it should be left to the poll results
Changing priority & set milestone to Mageia2

There was a poll here: https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=986&p=7184&hilit=double+click#p7184 At this moment the results are: 6 users wanted the single click, 6 the double, 4 didn't care So the poll doesn't press us to change default mouse behaviour, therefore closing this bug

It does nt press us to close the bug either. 16 votes cannot represents the users opinion. Anyway i dont want to insist to keep the report open but we have nothing to win closing non treated bugs.
@ Dimitrios I would love to give you your single click default, if I could at the same time keep the default double click for some users that come from windows. I'm planning on replacing Windows XP by Mageia on the pc of a ± 70 year old man, I already installed it on the pc of a ± 65 year old man. Can you imagine how confusing it will be for them, if the single click is default and I forget to change that mouse behaviour?
This is not a valid argument, Mageia it is nt designed to serve users coming from Windows. They will be adapted to the new environment, and for a 70 years old man is nt easy at all to do a double click. As it concerns KDE users, in the KDE forum there is a poll with the significant results with the single click to be the favorite one. http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=50216&start=15 After that, as the default behaviour is the single click i think that it would be better if the opposite happens, it means a bug report for changing the default behaviour and not a bug report to restore the default. So, i see a not interesting about this behaviour as the reaction of users was very low, and not a wontfix from developers. Of course 'not interesting' may be interpreted as wontfix
There doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to have it one way or the other. If the upstream default behaviour is single click, do we know why we ever deviated from that default in the first place?
Initially KDE was using double click & finally switch to single click, however in mandriva we stick initially with double click & that's why mageia 1 is still with double click per default.
