Description of problem: I tried installed Mageia from DVD, choosing FTP as secondary source. The installer answered the connexion couldn't be found, but asked me to choose a mirror! As soon as I add clicked on "ru" (Russia), I got a white screen (except from the left column) without be given the possibility to choose any Russian server, and, after a few minutes, the installer asked me again for secondary source, and I answered there was none. The installation waited several quite long for several packages, and eventually froze after several hours. I tried again, choosing HTTP as secondary source, and got the same symptom, except that, that time, I could choose the default American server, and that I stopped before complete freezing. I tried a third time, choosing no secondary source, and it worked as expected. I seems that the installer doesn't take into account the fact that it couldn't find the network, and try to connect again and again, but I have no proof of this. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 2 How reproducible: I tried twice. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download Mageia 2 x86_64 DVD. 2. Burn the image on a DVD. 3. Insert the DVD on a computer. 4. Reboot. 5. Choose to install Mageia. 6. Choose not to use the existing partitions but to erase everything. 7. Choose Mongolia as first language, British English, French, Spanish and Greek as secondary languages. 8. Choose to update the packages at installation. 9. Choose HTTP or FTP as secondary source of packages.

When and how to get this file?
This file is in /root/drakx/report.bug.gz on the installed system and is generated at install time. At install time, it's in /mnt/root/drakx/report.bug.gz after the partitionning step. Before, it's in /tmp/ddebug.log (well technically this one is the master log file that got synced regularly to /root/drakx/).
Thank you. But at that time, I don't have internet access (which is part of the problem), and I think a flash won't get mounted automatically. So, practically, how to get copy of any file?
if you run the "bug" command on the second terminal (alt+ctrl+f2) after you got stuck, it'all automatically mount any USB key it found in order to copy this file on it.
@Henri : Could you give a respons to comment 5 otherwise we have to close this bug

I don't have any computer to install Mageia on for the moment, nor do I have extra (not for production) computer. I'll try when this need will happen again.
Setting version to cauldron, since we can't fix an older installer. When you test next time, please test with a recent installer (latest today is Mageia 4 alpha 1).
Version: 2 => Cauldron
Sorry not answered for nearly 2 years so closing as old. When seen with current installer (5beta1 or higher) please reopen and change whiteboard accordingly. Thanks.
