Description Dimitrios Glentadakis 2012-10-04 20:01:01 CEST
Description of problem:
I want to add a new custom media, i open the drakrpm-edit-media, i choose e.g. HTTP as type of the server and when i want to type the name or the url of the media, nothing happens.
If i start typing just after launching the drakrpm-edit-media, with the "local file" choosed in the field 'media type' , i can type, but if i change the type i cannot type anything

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
5.34

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the drakrpm-edit-media
2. Choose HTTP as type of media, or FTP or something else than the first option 'local files'
3. Try to type, nothing happens

adding medium name and url works here

same Mageia version (2, x86_64), same version of rpmdrake, I can't reproduce.

rpmdrake-5.34.1-1.mga2 is in updates_testing, though, don't know whether that helps :/
Comment 4 Dimitrios Glentadakis 2012-10-06 17:09:34 CEST
I tried, it but it did nt help.
However i discovered that if i right click on the field and do a paste, after i am able to type in the field.
Comment 5 Dave Hodgins 2012-11-22 03:07:13 CET
Confirmed here with rpmdrake-5.34.1-1.mga2 on x86-64, both in a vb install,
and on a real hardware install. Worked ok on an i586 vb install.

Also confirming that the workaround in comment 4 works.

It is inconsistent though. I'd previously used it, and not knowing what
the medium name was used for, put in "Mine", without the quotes.

Once I realized what it was used for, I removed the existing repositories,
and tried to re-add them using a medium name of distrib, which is when
I ran into the problem.

If you can still reproduce this issue, can you _attach_ (not paste) the rpm_qa.txt file resulting from running the following command:
rpm -qa|sort>rpm_qa.txt

Also, what desktop are you using? (gnome? kde? sg else?
What locale are you using? English? Greek? ...

I am not at home for about one month so i will reply then.
Thanks

Installed rpm package list

Recreated by running drakrpm-edit-media, selecting all media using
the mouse and shift key, remove, then File/Add custom mirror.

Couldn't input the Medium name until I right clicked, then left
clicked on select all.

Currently using LXDM and KDE4. Locale is LANG=en_CA.UTF-8.
Comment 9 Dave Hodgins 2013-03-24 23:34:34 CET
Further testing shows it happens with gdm and kde4, but not with
gdm and gnome.

List of rpm in mga3 where i cannot reproduce it

Now i cannot reproduce it in Mageia 3, but i did a new installation due some problems i had.
Comment 11 Dave Hodgins 2013-09-08 00:15:50 CEST
My tests haven't recreated it, but as it's inconsistent, there is no
way to prove it's fixed. Hopefully the kde 4.10.5 fixed the problem.

I'll close the bug as fixed, and re-open if it does happen again.
