I should close this bug as invalid, because this is simply not true, there are "Previous" buttons in many drakx-installer-stage2 screens.

ctrl + alt + home takes you back to the language choice screen, which is great if you accidentally chose the wrong one or forgot to add some.

However, that is only useful before having started to upgrade or before anything is done in the Partitioning step, after that it'll break your install and you'll have to reboot your install medium to restart from the beginning.

A "Back" button won't help if you accidentally chose a wrong language, because it'll show a translation of "Back", which you most probably can't read.

In the "Partitioning" step there are *several* screens with "Previous" buttons, like this one http://doc.mageia.org/installer/3/en/content/ask_mntpoint_s.html
and this one http://doc.mageia.org/installer/3/en/content/choosePackagesTree.html

Apart from that, in the "Summary" step it is possible to adjust several previously made choices.
http://doc.mageia.org/installer/3/en/content/misc-params.html
(Some of the screens you can choose there have "Previous" buttons, too, btw).

Where else do you think a "Previous" button would be needed (and possible without breaking install) ?

Dick:

When I was told by a Mageia developer to "quit re-opening bugs" I decided that Mageia was not for me.

I made my living working for software companies for over a decade, the last of which was a 5 year stint on staff at arguably the biggest in the world here in Washington State. Probably the reason I am very involved in the Linux community now.

Development and Test need to have well defined checks and balances, very much like branches of a democratic government. That did not seem to exist when I checked out of Mageia. It may now.

If you would like this bug report closed please request it of an admin.

All the best
Jeffrey Bruton
