During installation from mga3 alpha2 LiveCD the checkbox 'remove unused hardware support' removes also packages needed for the system: In my case the fglrx drivers will be removed which causes non-starting X after the reboot. [marc@Rechner ~]$ lspci | grep ATI 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series I've attached screenshot of de-installed packages. Tested with Mageia-3-alpha2-LiveCD-KDE4-Europe1-Americas-x86_64-CD.

Created attachment 2888 [details] screenshot 'Unused packages removal' of LiveCD KDE i586 Listing of removed packages of i586 LiveCD KDE on same hardware. List is different: fglrx-kernel and x11-driver-video-fglrx are not present; however radeon-firmware is removed and therefore the reboot fails

Can you please add the result of the "lspcidrake -v" command?

Strange, in /usr/share/meta-task/rpmsrate-raw, we have: 5 DRIVER"ATI Radeon HD 2000|r600" radeon-firmware And it seems to match your driver line: Card:ATI Radeon HD 2000 to HD 6300 (radeon/fglrx): ATI Technologies Inc|Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series [DISPLAY_VGA] (vendor:1002 device:95c4 subv:1028 subd:029f)
Still present in Mageia-3-alpha2-LiveCD-GNOME-en-i586-CD.iso lspcidrake |grep Card Card:ATI Radeon HD 2000 to HD 6300 (radeon/fglrx): ATI Technologies Inc|Cedar PRO [Radeon HD 5450] [DISPLAY_VGA] From syslog ... urpme: called with: --auto broadcom-wl-kernel-3.5.5-desktop586-0.rc1.1.mga3 x11-driver-input-wacom x11-driver-input-synaptics ld10k1 rng-utils dmraid nvidia-current-kernel-3.5.5-desktop586-0.rc1.1.mga3 ipw2200-firmware numlock iwlwifi-3945-ucode iwlwifi-4965-ucode acr38u awesfx zd1211-firmware speedtouch-firmware b43-openfwwf virtualbox-guest-additions rfkill radeon-firmware atmel-firmware iwlwifi-agn-ucode rtlwifi-firmware b43-fwcutter isdn4k-utils ipw2100-firmware x11-driver-video-nvidia-current ralink-firmware Note the radeon-firmware was removed.

Did you run the lspcidrake command from Mageia3? It does not seem to be using the latest naming from ldetect-lst (Cards+). Cards are now named "Card:ATI Radeon HD 5000 to HD 6300 (radeon/fglrx)".
I have just committed a fix in drakx to make sure radeon-firmware is installed during network install, and not removed during live install. This should be fixed in next alpha/beta image.
thanks - at least for my particular hardware the bug is not present anymore in all 6 different alpha2 isos build on 13th-Oct. The radeon-firmware is not removed anymore and the reboot into graphical mode after installation is working.
