Description of problem: Many Gnome "suggests" and "deps" are attempting to install on my KDE Cauldron today. Created attachment 2862 [details] urpmi --auto-update -v --debug output I do have gnote installed which AFAIR is the only specifically "gnome" package, but I find it hard to believe that this is responsible. Ignore the last "iurt64" personal test media - not related to this.
I think this is the cause:- http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/gnome-media/current/SPECS/gnome-media.spec?r1=296989&r2=297002

Seems I have more *gnome* installed than I thought - although not sure where most came from :- [baz@jackodesktop ~]$ rpm -qa | grep gnome lib64gnomeui2_0-2.24.5-3.mga2 lib64gnome-vfs2_0-2.24.4-3.mga2 gnome-mime-data-2.18.0-9.mga2 lib64gnome-media-profiles0-3.0.0-8.mga2 libgnome2-schemas-2.32.1-8.mga2 gnome-icon-theme-3.5.90-1.mga3 gnome-python-bonobo-2.28.1-4.mga2 libgnomecanvas-2.30.3-4.mga2 gnome-vfs2-2.24.4-3.mga2 gnome-doc-utils-0.20.10-1.mga2 lib64gnome2_0-2.32.1-8.mga2 lib64gnomecanvas2_0-2.30.3-4.mga2 libgnome-keyring-i18n-3.5.6-1.mga3 gnome-packagekit-common-3.5.90-1.mga3 lib64gnome-keyring0-3.5.6-1.mga3 gnome-icon-theme-symbolic-3.5.90-1.mga3 libgnome2-2.32.1-8.mga2 gnome-python-canvas-2.28.1-4.mga2 gnome-python-gnomekeyring-2.32.0-12.mga2 gnome-keyring-3.5.92-1.mga3 gnome-media-3.4.0-1.mga3 gnome-python-gconf-2.28.1-4.mga2 gnome-python-2.28.1-4.mga2 gnome-python-desktop-2.32.0-12.mga2 libgnomeui2-2.24.5-3.mga2
gnome-media suggests gnome-control-center because of this commit: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-media/commit/?id=ea6fee0fbf8662a32a5cd2b5c96c1f75a9233813 So this is correct. Regarding other requires, I think the problem comes from system-config-printer, it is requiring a lot of gnome-python-*.

The actual problem comes from meta-task rpmsrate-raw: 5 CAT_KDE || CAT_GNOME gnome-media Which means, gnome-media will be installed under KDE and GNOME environment. I remembered we did this in Mandriva because we think there should be a sound recorder installed in system, but KDE does not ship one. Personally, I don't think a sound recorder is a must have application for desktop environment nowadays. So we could get rid of gnome-media, especially from KDE.

why is this bug is invalid ? i think we should change : 5 CAT_KDE || CAT_GNOME gnome-media into 5 CAT_GNOME gnome-media
