The package manager has $MIRRORLIST as URL. When calling rpmdrake from a shell, I see it contacts rsync://ftp.LinuxCabal.org/Mageia/distrib/2/i586, which hasn't been updated for more than a week now. So I removed all media from the package manager and clicked the "Add" button to add new media again. I hoped it would let me select the mirror I want, but it didn't. It automatically selected ftp.LinuxCabal.org again, despite it hasn't been updated for a long time. So it would be great if I could manually select the mirror I want, and ideally with the timestamp of their last update to better decide which one to select. I know there are updates for packages I have installed, and it's frustrating to not be able to install them because the mirror lags for days or weeks.
Use "File - Add a specific media mirror" (or Ctrl-M) (instead of hitting the "Add" button).
Ah, I didn't think there would be another way to add sources. Sorry for that!
