Description egc 2012-09-23 08:35:12 CEST
Kamoso does not recognize the integrated webcam on my netbook:
Package: kamoso-2.0.2-1.mga2
$ lspcidrake:
uvcvideo : Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd.|USB2.0 0.3M UVC WebCam [Video|Video Control]

Starting kamoso from console only shows this:
$ kamoso
kamoso: Symbol `_ZTVN4KIPI15ImageInfoSharedE' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking

Hi, thanks for reporting this bug.
As there is no maintainer for this package I added the committers in CC.

I guess you checked already, but does the webcam work in other tools such as ekiga?

I take it to see if a rebuild fixes it.

Yes, it does work in other tools. Thanks!

I rebuilt kamoso. Please test kamoso-2.0.2-1.1.mga2 from core/updates_testing.

# urpmi.update testing
# urpmi kamoso --search-media testing

Can i test this also on Mageia 3, because now i have only Mageia 3 installed?

Btw, kamoso-2.0.2-4.mga3 in Mageia 3 does not work either.

Thanks for your effort!
Comment 6 Samuel Verschelde 2013-08-30 19:22:50 CEST
I need someone to test it on Mageia 2 so that I can decide if I should provide this update to all users.

For Mageia 3, is the error message the same?
Comment 7 Samuel Verschelde 2013-08-30 19:33:01 CEST
kamoso looks like a dead project, I see no development nor news about it in the last 3 years.

Hmm, might be alive there: https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/multimedia/kamoso/repository

Comment 9 egc 2013-09-01 02:47:51 CEST
In Mageia 3 when starting kamoso it shows me this in konsole:
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 9: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.

When taking pictures there is no message at all.

When taking video this message comes:
kamoso(3582)/nepomuk (library) Nepomuk::ResourceData::store: "createResource: Encountered invalid type URI <http://www.semanticdesktop.org/ontologies/2007/08/15/nao#Tag>"

(changing version as it seems still valid on mga3, so it will survive of mga2 eol)

Version: 2 => 3

Comment 11 Samuel Verschelde 2013-11-21 09:05:21 CET
Sorry, I haven't been able to fix it in Mageia 2 in time and don't think I will have time for the Mageia 3 bug either soon. Assigning to neoclust who agreed that the KDE team was to maintain this package, when we spoke weeks ago about it on IRC.
