This was a wired network install with the graphical installer. This was on an old Centrino laptop with a single harddisk. There was nothing relevant on tty4, but this was on tty3: (Please note this output is from my first attempt. I had the graphical installer keep the boot partition, which existed from a previous install, and delete the only other pre-existing partition. I tried to create an encrypted LVM. On my second attempt, I got the same result; this time trying to create an unencrypted LVM in free space.) partitionWizard calling soluztion Custom disk partioning lang:bla lang:bla partition::dos::write sda partition::dos::write sda running: udevadm conteol --stop-exec-queue tell kernel del (sda 2 ) force_reboot= rebootNeeded= tell kernel del (sda 5 ) force_reboot= rebootNeeded= tell kernel add (sda 5 196608 14326152) force_reboot= rebootNeeded= running: udevadm contol --start-exec-queue running: udevadm settle waring: unable to get module filename for aes_x86_64 (path: ) waring: unable to get module filename for amd768_rng (path: ) waring: unable to get module filename for amd7xx_tco (path: ) waring: unable to get module filename for hw_random (path: ) waring: unable to get module filename for i810_rng (path: ) waring: unable to get module filename for leedslite (path: ) waring: unable to get module filename for padlock (path: ) running: sbin/insmod dm_mod.ko running: sbin/insmod dm_crypt.ko running: sbin/insmod aes_generic.ko running: sbin/insmod aes_i586.ko missing module aes_x86_64 running: sbin/insmod cryptd.ko running: sbin/insmod aesni_intel.ko Error: could not insert /tmp/module aesni_intel.ko: No such device missing module amd768_rng missing module amd7xx_tco running: sbin/insmod /tmp/cbc.ko missing module hw_random missing module i810_rng missing module leedslite missing module padlock running: sbin/insmod /tmp/sha256_generic.ko running: sbin/insmod /tmp/gf128mul.ko running: sbin/insmod /tmp/xts.ko running: cryptsetup --cipher=aes-xts-benbi --key-siez=512 luksFormat --batch-mode /dev/sda5 /tmp/.dmcrypt_key-603 running: lbkid -o udev -p /dev/sda5

Created attachment 2777 [details] lvcreate failed: Abortin. Failed to wipe start of new LV I'm experiencing a similar issue trying to install mageia 3 alpha 1 into a virtual machine using the dvd x86_64. The virtual hard disk was already partitioned using lvm. I've previously removed all the logical volumes, removed the volume group and the lvm partition. Then it fails while trying to create the first new lv.
Related, I guess: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5505#c13 On the other ttys, there was nothing relevant, except for a repetition of the INTERNAL ERROR text you see in the first screenshot.

can one of you too reproduce this bug with a netinstall or the alpha3 ? personnaly I'm not (with a netinstall) (but still see some other lvm bugs, already reported, checking all of them..)

Cannot reproduce either, with current cauldron boot-nonfree.iso x86_64.
ok thanks, hope it will be better for the others bugs too :)
