Description Dimitrios Glentadakis 2012-09-08 10:59:04 CEST
In my netbook msi u110, the installer and the harddrake2 installs me the package ralink-firmware for my wifi. the problem is that i cannot be connected to my router with drakconnect (it does nt find any access point).

i try to add manualy the parametres of the router and it can be connected but after 1 or 2 minutes it disconnects, and i cannot be reconnected except if i reboot.

I installed the package rt2860-firmware-26-1.mga1 and i dont have any problem with the connexion

Kernel: 3.3.8-netbook-2.mga2

Similar problems. I'm able to connect to my WLAN after booting from the Live CD, or from an installed system sourced from a Live CD, but am unable to do so after booting from an installed system sourced from the full distribution DVD. I used the same config parameters in both cases. 2 different Ralink usb adapters behave similarly:
    DLink WUA-1340
    Brand X

Correction - I can't connect at all from installed system sourced from full distribution DVD.

Hardware: i586 => x86_64

Well you need to download the rpm from somewhere else. This will change in mga3 as we added nonfree drivers even in dvd isos.
Comment 4 Dimitrios Glentadakis 2013-06-09 14:55:04 CEST
Cannot reproduce it any more
