Description Daniel Kjellin 2012-09-02 20:03:25 CEST
Description of problem:
I am uncertain exactly what steps are required to reproduce this, but it happens near daily. Today I did the following, I started Mageia Control Center and started the "install/remove packages". After some time the sudo expired. After an additional ten minutes I closed it. I then continued my work and maybe ten minutes again I needed to open it again and try to start it and the sudo prompt comes up. I enter the password and it closes but Mageia Control Center never starts. I can now not start it until I log out and in again,

Note I am running gnome 3 classic.

What do you mean with sudo ?
the popup that come asking for a password ?

any errors if you start it from the console ?
(maybe it's a bug of networkmanager changing the host)

Source RPM: (none) => usermode

Yes, exactly, I get the popup asking for password, I enter the correct root password, the box goes away but nothing more happens.

How do I start it from console? I have tried to run "mcc" as root but it says it can not find any displays.

That could very well be it, happy to "try things" to narrow this down. It is really quite frustrating.
