The battery icon in gnome 3 classic (and perhaps in gnome 3 shell) does not update after started. Once logged in it never changes, however if the mouse is placed over it shows a tooltip with updated information. Also when the charger is plugged in the icon is partly cut off.

Dams, assigning this upstream bug to you because you seem to be what is the closest from a GNOME maintainer (although there are a lot of gnome packages that simply have "nobody" as their maintainer). Please either assign back to bugsquad (if you're not the maintainer), close as wontfix (if you don't think this bug is ever going to be fixed upstream) or fix :)
