Description of problem: Installing from a DVD on x86-64 (Alpha 1 DVD from 1.9 late evening) a long series of error message flashes by: "Unable to read modalias from /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-1 ..." Still downloading the isos that became available this night (2.9 / 3.9). I am not overly optimistic - the 1.9 iso had the problems with the USB input devices fixed, but nevertheless still showed this problem. Will check and report as rapidly as possible.
Created attachment 2735 [details] lspcidrake of my x86-64 Mageia 3 Alpha1 system
I have now burned a DVD with the newest x86-64 iso (2.9. 23.02) and started an install: the bug is still there. I verified that I did not commit an error: looking at the mounted iso DVD, I see time-stamps that confirm that this is the iso built last night. In case that helps, attachment 2735 [details] contains the output of lspcidrake -v made from the Alpha1 system I had installed and personalized yesterday.
That's just a warning. Does lspcidrake displays all your USB devices? Does it happens before or after the progress bar displayed by text mode stage1 before loading stage2? Do you see those messages in your /root/drakx/* ? If yes, could you attach them?

> That's just a warning. I realize - no problem for an alpha, but needs to be fixed for RC and final > Does it happens before or after the progress bar displayed by text mode stage1 I think you mean the progress bar where it says "Loading program into memory": that fully goes to its end (100%); then a message "proceding please wait" appears briefly, and than the warning messages come - I think that is just before stage 2 (but I dont precisely know where stage 1 stops and stage2 starts) > Do you see those messages in your /root/drakx/* ? No. I did grep modalias /root/drakx/* However, grep unable ... has to hits: /root/drakx/ddebug.log:matchbox-wm: unable to open theme: /usr/share/themes/Ia Ora Smooth/matchbox/theme.xml and /root/drakx/stage1.log:* warning: unable to get module filename for hid-generic I will add stage1.log and ddebug.log as an attachment.

Sorry - misfiled attachment 2900 [details] - intended for #7671
do you still these message with the alpha2 ?
So far I have installed Alpha2 only on my laptop (i586) - no problem on that machine. Will be back home Monday and confirm after installing Alpha2 on the x86-64 Dell desktop where the probem had been originally reported.
I have now checked on the x86-64 machine: the bug persists in Alpha 2. Machine - Dell Optiplex 990 (quad x86-64, lspcidrake see attachment 29000

Well, during network install, there is another nonprofessional look about it, as one such message is printed in cyan in about middle of screen, just before the dialog "Please select your network connection type" The dialog thus covers the message so at left it say "Unabl" ant at right ".1/modalias" Next dialog and until stage 2 loads just "Una" remains. Right after stage 2 loaded there are a screen full of the messages, but just very shortly. This is using a 64 bit boot.iso downloaded last minute.
