Please test calibre-0.9.1-1.mga2 from core/updates_testing repository.
Comment 2 Damien Lallement 2012-10-08 19:25:09 CEST
Advisory:
-------------
This update of calibre allows Mageia users to use all available plugins for calibre and to connect all new devices with mtp connexion.

Packages:
-------------
calibre-0.9.1-1.mga2
python-netifaces-0.8-1.mga2

How to test:
-------------
- Just try that the new calibre still work and that you can connect your devices to upload files.
- Please also check that plugins can now all be used!

One problem I've noticed, which is still present with this one is that Fetching news errors with..

ERROR: Cannot download news as no internet connection is active

I thought python-netifaces might fix this but it doesn't appear to.

If news is scheduled then the error occurs by itself a few minutes after starting calibre.

Works ok on Mageia 2 x86_64. I tested the old and new version with the procedure.

Comment 6 Damien Lallement 2012-10-10 18:39:42 CEST
I removed 0.9.1.
I pushed 0.8.69 because 0.9.1 needs highest libmtp/libusb to work.
0.9.1 + Mageia 2 can't work and gives a lot of errors in terminal (libmtp/libusb errors).

Advisory:
-------------
This update of calibre allows Mageia users to use all available plugins for
calibre.

Packages:
-------------
calibre-0.8.69-1.mga2
python-netifaces-0.8-1.mga2

How to test:
-------------
- Just try that the new calibre still work and that you can connect your
devices to upload files.
- Please also check that plugins can now all be used!

calibre-0.8.69-1.mga2 will soon be available in repository.

I can reproduce but can't find how to fix this (not a regression).
No more available in Cauldron. Must be a networkmanager (cf google) or a python issue.

I don't have any devices, so I can't test it.

If you have a smartphone, you can simply use it.

I don't have one. In fact I don't have a mobile phone. :)

Stefano, as you requested the update, could you test the update candidate (from Core Updates Testing) and report here if it works well?
Comment 12 claire robinson 2012-11-02 11:18:13 CET
Testing complete mga2 64

To load the epubmerge plugin you have to go Preferences => Plugins => Get New Plugins => Select EpubMerge and click Install.

Tested ok with a sony ebook reader.
