Description Gegetel 2012-08-04 17:32:38 CEST
Description of problem:

I currently use Mageia 2 with 3.3.6-desktop-2.mga kernel but, knowing dev's demands, I did try Cauldron 3.4.4 and 3.5.0 with the same issue.

My video curent card is a nVidia Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210] (rev a2), for which a proprietary driver exists, but I encountered the same issue on other computers with older nVidia cards (GeForce FX5500, GeForce 8500 gt) for which such drivers are not available. The only solution whas replacing with ATI cards.

This is the error message I get when I try to launch Pinball:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$ pinball
Initing SDL
0 joysticks were found.
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Glxinfo tells me that direct rendering is on.

This issue doesn't exist on the same computer with nouveau driver when I launch Pinball in Fedora 17 or in Debian Wheezy.

Sorry, I can't answer because there is now an ATI video card on this computer. Pinball and all other programs work correctly with radeon module. (Presently Mageia 3)

Closing as OLD since we would need the initial hardware to tests about that and the bug is quite old so hopefully fixed since then. Thanks for reporting it in the first place and sorry nobody helped diagnose and fix it at the time.
