There is now a kernel-linus-3.3.8-1.mga2 ready to validate. Test that it installs and boots ok. If you use proprietary drivers, you need dkms-(nvidia-current, fglrx, broadcom-wl), and kernel-linus-devel installed. Advisory: This updates the reference kernel to latest 3.3 series. Tests Ok here x86_64 za3xx usb Webcam, usb mouse, keyboard, usb storage, nvidia-current & nouveau, intel hd audio, saa7130 pci cctv card, cheap usb bluetooth dongle, Sata hdd and ide cdrom, realtek network. All fine. Sleep & Hibernate OK
The *-latest packages all point to the correct kernels.
Only comment on this really is that it does not show in grub menu that it is linus kernel flavour, as desktop does for desktop kernel etc. It just shows as the kernel version.

Hej Thomas Backlund (Swedish ?)/Hi tmb I have now tested all kernels in mga2 and also cauldron (mga3). No matter if I try kernel-linus or kernel-desktop I have problem with suspend (hibernate also). When running nouveau laptop cannot wake up from suspend. It goes to sleep when running suspend, but it takes really long time. Same problem also when running nvidia drivers and the kernels. Only difference is that it wakes up after suspend. Sleep when running suspend takes ages. I am lost. I thought in the start it was nvidia driver related but now I do not now. What I know is suspend/hibernate works with Kubuntu 12.04 (kernel 3.2.* ?) from liveusb. Will really be glad to get this solved. hardware info: http://paste.kde.org/524414/ Ezim/Berxwedan from the channel :)!

Please tmb take a look here: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6935
kernel-linus boots ok on virtualbox, mga 32
(In reply to comment #6) > Please tmb take a look here: > https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6935 Is it a regression from previous Mageia 2 kernels? If not, this bug report is not the place to discuss it, the goal of testing an update candidate is to ensure it doesn't add any regression.
Tested kernel-linus-3.3.8-1.mga2 on i586 (Dell D820 laptop - only standard drivers) Everything ok: install, boot, suspend, hibernate, wlan interface; no regressions observed in using a customized system

I think testing reports are enough for validating this one. We'll wait a bit more concerning bug #6914 Update validated. See comment #0 for advisory and SRPM.
