Description Richard Urmonas 2011-04-07 16:47:08 CEST
Fresh install of Beta x86_64 KDE. In the media sources for installation and update (repositories) the following two sources are enabled:

Mirror List Core 32 bit Release
Mirror List Core 32 bit Update

These cause some conflicts when doing an update (tries to install both 32 and 64 bit versions of some packages). It also causes confusion when installing packages as both 32 and 64 bit versions are listed.

I think it is normal that these 32 bit repositories are enabled.

Can you add the output of your conflict?
Or can you explain how the updates were made.

Which packages cause the conflicts?

I did not capture the error messages, and /var/log/messages does not list these errors. Yesterday (2011-04-06) when doing an update I had 71 packages produce "Installation Problem ..." message. This occurred consistently on 3 separate attempts.

Just now to try to record the error message, I re-enabled the 32 bit repositories and:
1) The update work correctly now (no errors)
2) The add / remove software screen only shows the 64 bit option for main programs (correct behavior)

So the problem is no longer there. This bug can be closed.
