Description of problem: I try install Mageia2 via "Advanced installation methods -> Booting the installer directly from a hard disk - Linux method" (description https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Archive:Installing_Mageia). But after disk partitioning installer show message "media.cfg not found". I tried to install the Mageia2 x86_64 to real PC (with installed OpenSUSE 12.1 x86_64) and Mageia2 i586 to VMware machine (with installed Vine linux i686). In both cases the result is the same. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Every time I attempt install Mageia2 via "Advanced installation methods -> Booting the installer directly from a hard disk - Linux method" Steps to Reproduce: 1. Any linux machine 2. Follow the instructions in the article https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Archive:Installing_Mageia (section "Booting the installer directly from a hard disk - Linux method"). 3. In installation process after disk partitioning drak-installer must display message "media.cfg not found"
what have you choice for the transition stage1 > stage2 install netinstall, iso, http, ftp etc, also Could you provide the file /root/drakx/report.bug.gz as an attachment ? If you don't have the file, you can switch to console 2 (by pressing 'Ctrl-Alt-F2') during installation, put a floppy in floppy drive or plug a USB key/stick and type: 'bug' then press Enter. It will put report.bug on the floppy/key.

I used Installation from the Internet (HTTP) and input mirror "mirror.datacenter.by", path to stage2 "/pub/mirrors/mageia.org/distrib/2/" (without architecture). Drak-installer tried to download media.cfg from http://mirror.datacenter.by/pub/mirrors/mageia.org/distrib/2/media/media_info.
if you add the architecture it should work, thierry, was this supposed to be the case ?

Yes. In the previous message I tried to explain that no bug. Just had to add architecture. P.S. If don`t specify the architecture, Drak-installer loads stage2 normally. And then Drak-installer displays message "media.cfg not found". I thought that Drak-installer by himself add architecture. In opensuse don`t need to add architecture: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Remote_installation
