Description Olivier Delaune 2012-07-13 17:06:07 CEST
Hello, some softwares needs flvstreamer and rtmpdump in the same time (example: qarte). The problem is that flvstreamer cannot be installed if rtmpdump is already installed and vice versa.
The conflict probably comes from the fact these two packages contain common binaries

flvstreamer contain the following files
/usr/bin/flvstreamer
â/usr/bin/rtmpsrv
â/usr/bin/rtmpsuck
â/usr/bin/streams
â/usr/share/doc/flvstreamer
â/usr/share/doc/flvstreamer/ChangeLog
â/usr/share/doc/flvstreamer/README

and rtmpdump
/usr/bin/rtmpdump
â/usr/bin/rtmpgw
â/usr/bin/rtmpsrv
â/usr/bin/rtmpsuck
â/usr/share/doc/rtmpdump
â/usr/share/doc/rtmpdump/ChangeLog
â/usr/share/doc/rtmpdump/README
â/usr/share/man/man1/rtmpdump.1.xz
â/usr/share/man/man8/rtmpgw.8.xz

Could you clean the two packages?

flvstreamer is an old subset of rtmpdump, so rtmpdump should have a versioned obsolete against it.

Who should do it? Anssi - you are the maintainer - can you add it and close the bug?

I am? Oh. Guess I'll do that tomorrow or so then.

Fixed in rtmpdump-2.4-0.git20111228.3.mga3 for cauldron.

I'll look into feasibility of providing an update for older releases in the weekend.

Hi,
I've read the new spec file and I think it misses a symlink to be fully backward compatible with flvstreamer:
The last fork of flvstreamer is from rtmpdump 2.1c and in version 2.2 of rtmpdump, usr/bin/streams has been renamed to rtmpgw.

So, strictly speaking, one need a symlink from streams to rtmpgw. Not very important though ...

This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 2 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

Mageia 2 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''22 November''. Mageia 2 is no
longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or
bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
