Description Gene Alexander 2012-07-13 04:01:59 CEST
Thank you for adding the "Cuyo 2. - 1.1" game to Mageia 2.

The version of Cuyo in Mageia 2 is from 2008 and is "Cuyo 2. - 1.1" from what I can determine from the startup screen and from the game's home page. The latest release is confusingly called "Cuyo 2.0.0" instead of "Cuyo 2. - 2.0". The latter would be the correct sequence in the numbering based on the original numbering scheme that was in Mandriva and ported to Mageia. I know, weird huh?

Anyway, the latest release of Cuyo came out in January 2012. The source can be found posted here in February 2012:

 http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/cuyo/?C=M;O=D

 cuyo-2.0.0.tar.gz	16-Feb-2012 17:07	3.6M
 cuyo-2.0.0.tar.gz.sig	16-Feb-2012 17:03	287

As noted on its web page there are several bug fixes that would solve some of the problems we are seeing with this older version of the game. Thanks!

@malo, can you see if you want to backport this once backports open? Additionally, you may want to package the new version for Cauldron. Please reassign / change status if you feel you are not the appropiate person to work on this or if you won't want to provide a backport for it.

I can do it for Cauldron, and for backport when it opens.

New cuyo is in Cauldron. Used version 2.2.0.0, but it's confusing. Please test if it works for you.

I tested it in a Cauldron virtual machine under VirtualBox after updating the VM. There was no sound, but that could just be due to my VM not being set up properly for sound. I did not want to take the time to try to figure that out today. :) As I am not the person who actually plays this game, that would be my wife, I can only say it works as far as I can tell.

Since no one else seems to be looking at this I am going to close my report and mark this fixed.

I have sound under cauldron. But this bug report is for a backport to Mageia 2. So please leave it opened until I can provide a backport for Mageia 2. Thanks for your testing.

Ah, you are correct. My mistake. Thanks for reopening it.
Comment 8 Malo Deniélou 2013-05-21 12:05:01 CEST
Ok it sounds like backports might not be opened for Mageia 2, but only from Mageia 3. Mageia 3 has the updated version. I am therefore going to close this bug report.
Sorry about not being fast enough, but we lacked manpower to open bakports for Mageia 2. Please join us in some of the teams to make the process more efficient in the future!
