Description Funda Wang 2012-06-25 12:02:29 CEST
In Mageia 2, we ship kwooty 0.8.2, but the package have following errors:

* Due to some packaging problems, kwooty have devel time dependencies, which is unwanted for runtime packages.

* kwooty 0.8.2 does not work as expected under gnome 3, especially with shutdown feature.

Due to above problems, kwooty is updated to 0.8.4 with clean packaging policy.

Testing x86_64

# urpmq --requires kwooty | grep devel
--requires behaviour changed, use --requires-recursive to get the old behaviour
devel(libQtCore(64bit))
devel(libQtGui(64bit))
devel(libQtNetwork(64bit))
devel(libkcmutils(64bit))
devel(libkdecore(64bit))
devel(libkdeui(64bit))
devel(libkio(64bit))
devel(libkworkspace(64bit))
devel(libsolid(64bit))
devel(libstdc++(64bit))

# urpmq --requires --searchmedia Testing kwooty | grep devel
--requires behaviour changed, use --requires-recursive to get the old behaviour
#

Confirmed the devel requires have been removed. Testing for regressions.

Testing complete x86_64 Mageia 2

To test you have to add some news servers. You will need an nzb file too.

Your ISP may supply some
The nzb file is an index file for usenet, they are used in a similar way to torrent files. Kwooty should download and repair if needed then extract the files.
