I'm doing a fresh, Custom install on a VM with a 6GB root partition. Up until a few days ago, the defaul package category selection totalled about 3-4GB, and when I pared it down to Network Client, Console, Internet Station, Development, and Web, that dropped to 2+GB. Yesterday, the default totalled 13GB, and didn't budge as I removed KDE and other components not in the above list. I eventually unclicked every category, and the total still read 13GB. The result is that the install refuses to proceed, claiming there is not enough space.
We need the log, can you provide the file /root/drakx/report.bug ?
Created attachment 2481 [details] report.bug taken after refusal to install
This report.bug is incomplete. I mounted an fd0.img file as the floppy for the VirtualBox VM, and "bug" wrote the report to it. The fd0.img file is about 729K, and when I mount it as a loopback, it shows report.bug to be 1454080 bytes long, implying that it filled the virtual floppy. However, any attempt to read past 729K gets an I/O error. Hopefully, this is enough. The bottom of the file is a bunch of "unselecting..." messages. If these are a result of my unchecking package categories, then the original error of thinking the default install requires 13GB will be in this portion of the file.
ok thanks, can be a regression of the last change
