It forgives for the delay friend!

I have been very atarefado in the work.

These packages are requested when we desire to convert or to export video archive

A few points:
- Openshot uses the python binding of mlt.
- libavcodec (core) is a require of mlt (core).
- libx264 (tainted), libxvid (tainted), liblame (tainted) need libavcodec (tainted) to work with mlt (core) and openshot (core).

So, as packages are in tainted, people need to install them by hand.
I can ask a "core" package to pull "tainted" deps.

I have a hard time trying to understand what you're saying, but I saw you closed this as wontfix

Did you mean:

"If I would package them, they would have to go into the tainted repository and then people would need to install them by hand, because I *cannot* ask a core package to pull tainted dependencies. That would lead to a lot of complaints from users, which would give a lot of extra work, so closing as WONTFIX"?

Sorry Marja. :-)
Packages are already there, but in "tainted".
Openshot and mlt are in "core". So, "mlt" installs "libavcodec" from "core".
To work, it needs to have "libavcodec" from "tainted" + "libx264", "liblame", "libxvid" from "tainted" too.

A package from "core" cannot pull dependencies from tainted. So, I can't do anything more...

It's not that it will lead complaints or extra work: it's just impossible.

That's why "wontfix".

Better? :-)

Yes, a lot better, thanks Damien :)

Sophie seems to think I treated her badly, she refused to tell me the packages already exist in tainted, even though I asked twice for all three of them :(

Sophie is a useful chat bot who knows everything about our packages
