Description of problem: syslog says: Jun 18 11:37:04 phoenix gdm-fingerprint][1806]: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib64/security/pam_fprintd.so): /lib64/security/pam_fprintd.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Jun 18 11:37:04 phoenix gdm-fingerprint][1806]: PAM adding faulty module: /lib64/security/pam_fprintd.so The pam rules for gdm-fingerprint come from a default package: [root@phoenix morrigan]# rpm -qf /etc/pam.d/gdm-fingerprint gdm-3.4.1-2.mga3.x86_64 The missing /lib64/security/pam_fprintd.so is in fprintd-pam, so maybe a dependency to it would make sense here. Or alternatively by default comment out the line in /etc/pam.d/gdm-fingerprint that refers to that module.
