Description of problem: I have a mageia 2 updated over a mageia 1. Wifi works welle with 1. When install 2, and want to connect wifi, I have "ne peut trouver l'interface réseau". I've installed broadcom-wl-kernel-netbook-latest and kernel-firmware Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): bug is also reported here : http://mageiacauldron.tuxfamily.org/TestingMageia2WifiAndOtherThings lscpi -vv give : wl : Broadcom Corporation|BCM4313 801.11b/g/n Wirelss LAN controller [NETWORK_OTHER] (vendor:14e4 deviec:4727 subv1a3b subd : 2047) (rev:01) so I have, as post in MLO forum installed a Suse RPM (I know it's very very ugly thing) : http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/driver:/wireless/openSUSE_11.3/noarch/brcm80211-firmware-0.610.809.0-1.1.noarch.rpm (on a mirror) and then my wifi works. May be we can do reverse engeenering of this rpm ;) How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
what does uname -r said ? you have to use the broadcom-wl-kernel-desktop-latest if you have the desktop kernel of use the dkms

Is kernel-firmware-nonfree installed?
CC: (none) => sander.lepik
Hi. I really believe I installed all necessary softwares. In fact, I forgot kernel-firmware-nonfree. But, in this case, as I'm sure this repository was enabled when I tried to install this wifi chipset, why Mageia doesn't install it ? I think there's a way to improve this installation. Thanks for answer.
