On Mageia2, Kino work fine ( transfert from JVC, cutting...), but cannot export to mpeg ( .mpeg or .vob ). for sound kino cannot export to ogg, mp3 etc . ( on Mageia 1 : no problem.)
Test with gnome classic Under Gnome Kino can export properly ( .vob) , but under kde no.
Tring on EEEPC 1000H On kde kino do not export . Tring on athlon 2800 + grafic cart NVIDIA 6800 : SUCCES On kde4 : Kino export as .vob ! Kino and KDE4 do not like Intel grafic !
any errors or info if you run it in a console ?

hello Yes kino complain about gtk vidget . i load lib64GTK_xx ( lib64gtk-gir( and other? i do not remember names.) and so kino seem export on test .ogg and MPEG.
Test on my EEEPC 1000H: - kino do not work properly for export ( kde4 ) - Add libgtkglext-1.0_0 : succes : kino can export !

.mp3 exporting is done by ffmpeg in tainted repository (with lame), .ogg exporting is done by gstreamer codec. I think you may try installing ffmpeg in tainted repository and gstreamer0.10-tools to give it a try.
