Description Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-06-02 15:34:47 CEST
Description of problem:

The cause seems to be a typo error in the file xsettings.xml
Oxygen must be replaced by oxygen in the line IconThemeName

Regards

Could you grab a screenshot about missing icons?

Comment 3 Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-06-03 10:29:08 CEST
On my test computer, I configure the look (tab icons) and I select Oxygen.
This allows the display of all icons.

I then verified the local file: ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xsettings.xml
IconThemeName line is written "oxygen" and not "Oxygen".

Then I modifies the general config file: /etc/xdg/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xsettings.xml.
I log out, I delete the directories .cache and .config.
I reconnect .
Now all icons are present.

I can no longer make printscreen, but, of head, missing icons were Terminal, Editor, Web-browser and Actions (logout)

Should be fixed in latest release [1] in core/updates_testing. Please test it.

[1] mageia-xfce-config-2-1.1.mga2
Comment 6 Derek Jennings 2012-06-08 00:33:04 CEST
Tested mageia-xfce-config-2-1.1.mga2 on Mageia 2 i586

On creating a new user and logging in, the workspaces in the panel flicker rapidly as the number of workspaces oscillates between 2 and 4 workspaces.
If I right click on the panel and select Properties>Workspace settings I can see the number of work spaces toggling between 2 and 4.

If I left click in a work space the oscillating stops and two workspaces are displayed.

On the plus side the problem with the icon set is fixed. Thunar now displays icons correctly.
Comment 7 Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-06-08 10:53:15 CEST
I just tested the package.
For me, it works perfect.
I do not have the problem of workspaces.

For me, the package can reach core/updates

Please open a separate bug about the workspace problem.

Comment 10 Derek Jennings 2012-06-08 13:34:05 CEST
Reverted mageia-xfce-config back to release version and confirmed the workspaces oscillating still happens so it is not a regression. I will create a separate bug report for it.

Georges what architecture are you using? If it is x86_64 we can go ahead and validate this update without further testing.
Comment 11 Derek Jennings 2012-06-08 13:43:43 CEST
Hang on. The package is noarch so it does not need to be tested on all architectures.

Update Validated
Could someone from sysadmin please push mageia-xfce-config-2-1.1.mga2.src.rpm from Core/Updates/Testing to Core/Updates

Advisory
--------
This update fixes an issue with missing icons in the XFCE panel and in Thunar. Bug 6294

Replacement of "Oxygen" by "oxygen" works on both i586 and x86_64 architecture
