Now in Mageia 2 i have 3 dictionaries installed, aspell-en-7.1.0-2.mga2 aspell-el-0.50.3-15.mga2 aspell-fr-0.50.3-19.mga2 but in the dictionaries list there are 31. 22 variants of English, 6 variants of French, 2 variants of Greek and 1 Hebrew. As the list is very long it is not comfortable to choose every time between 31 variants. I would like to keep only three of them (English, French, Greek) I did nt have this huge list in Mageia 1.
this seems more a feature request or a regression bug, so can you report/check with upstream ?

For almost all applications, aspell has been replaced by hunspell in Mageia 2 Of hunspell it is know it gives this problem, see bug 6125

Yes was hunspell that does it I deleted all unwanted dictionnaries in /usr/share/hunspell and it is fine now
The only dictionnary that i cannot delete is the Hebrew. I dont have any file hebrew in /usr/share/hunspell but it appears always in the spellcheck dictionaries
(In reply to comment #3) > Yes was hunspell that does it > I deleted all unwanted dictionnaries in /usr/share/hunspell and it is fine now Great, thanks for the feedback. I'll close this bug as a duplicate of bug 6125. In our bugzilla, someone who filed a bug can close it, too. Can you please try whether you can close the upstream bug you filed? You'd probably have to look for an option to close it as "invalid", because the bug isn't in a KDE component. I saw we told you to file a bug report upstream. Sorry for that! (In reply to comment #4) > The only dictionnary that i cannot delete is the Hebrew. Thanks for take care of this Marja, about the upstream report it is changed to whish now.
This is the rpm that contain the hebrew dictionnary: lib64hspell0-1.2-2.mga2.x86_64 but i cannot uninstall it as it has all kde in its dependancies and much more (668 packages) Of course i can get rid of this manually, but i would like to ask if there is something that has to be fixed in the hspell package (which it is not installed in my system) Other info: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-devel&m=132285192206420&w=2

removing https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302689 from the URL field, because this bug is now about the hebrew dictionary that wasn't chosen to be installed and can't be removed. After I typed urpme lib64hspell0-1.2-2.mga2 on Cauldron I'm getting a long output, where the only occurrence of "hspell" is here: kdelibs4-core-4.9.0-3.mga3.x86_64 (due to missing libhspell.so.0()(64bit), due to missing libkdecore.so.5()(64bit), So apparently kdelibs4-core links against libhspell, and this is not a problem with the hspell packaging, but with KDE's.
