Description Jeff Robins 2012-05-28 09:34:38 CEST
Description of problem:
I have the classic task manager and not the incon only task manager. If I have an application open, e.g. konsole, when I logout, then it is started when I log back in after reboot. The application is visible and <ALT>+<TAB> can switch to it, but it doesn't show up in the task manager with the default settings. To get the application to appear in the task manager I have to tell it to show tasks from all activities.

The application was in the current activity when it was started the first time. I'm not sure if this is a bug in the task manager, activities or if auto-started programs should be in a different activity. If they should be in a different activity, then I have to ask why as this doesn't seem logical to me. I would assume that they should be in the same one they were originally in.

BTW, I'm not really clear on the activity separation anyway, so maybe I'm just missing something.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Not sure, but I think always. I just never noticed that konsole was auto-started before.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to classic task manager (not icon only)
2. Start konsole
3. Logout/Reboot
4. Login
5. konsole is started but does not show up in classic task manager
6. If you tell the task manger to show tasks from all activities, the it shows up

You're talking about konsole, so I presume you're talking about KDE?

Is this bug still valid?

Sorry I missed the e-mails for some reason.

I was talking abut KDE, but the bug no longer seems to be valid.

I'll close it as resolved.
