Description Morgan Leijström 2012-05-23 09:40:04 CEST
Problem:
After install of gcompris, in KDE menu Mageiaicon>Education there is the launch icon for education mode, but not for the main application mode.

Notes:

In mga1, there were both icons there in the Education group.

  - However -
In the info presented in drakrpm when selecting the package it is said to be installed under Games !

And it is a really great educative game (lots of games from age 2 and up...)

I also think it should be included in the task-games package

I will fix both description and icon as soon as updates are opened.

Status: NEW => ASSIGNED

Comment 2 Angelo Naselli 2012-05-27 11:44:27 CEST
as a workaround it can be run from menu by execute application (ALT-F2 - quick run) writing gcompris.

Josè as for tuxpaint, i think gcompris administration, tuxpaint-config should be put somewhere else and not under education directly, since they are more for "teachers" than for students. WDYT?

Morgan, have you tried omnitux by any chance?

Cheers,
Angelo

gcompris-12.01-1.1.mga2 is in testing.

Advisory : gcompris did not appear in the launch menus. This update includes it in the Education menu.

Testing x86_64

Before
------

Just GCompris Administration shows in the education menu.
Also Tuxpaint and Tuxpaint Config.

After
-----

As above but also Educational suite GCompris

Tested a few random games and all appears OK

Testing complete x86_64

Comment 6 Angelo Naselli 2012-06-08 15:35:03 CEST
Tested on x86_64, menu entry is fixed now.
i586 test is not really needed here i believe, but is welcome :)
Comment 7 claire robinson 2012-06-08 16:02:27 CEST
It should be tested on both before being validated Angelo, thanks for testing x86_64. This is a good one for our new starters :)

Comment 8 Juergen Harms 2012-06-09 16:48:08 CEST
In complement to comment #6, I have now tested the package on i586 - the fix is OK, validated both in i586 and x86_64: the missing menu item does now correctly appear in the menu.

Advisory:
---------
gcompris did not appear in the launch menus. This update includes it
in the Education menu.
