Description Eric Gruetzmacher 2012-05-23 08:04:08 CEST
Description of problem: After creating an install DVD for Mageia 2, the installation process comes to page where you select the language and that is far as I'm able to go. The pointer will not move as if the trackpad isn't recognized. The problem isn't the DVD, because I used the same DVD to install on a netbook.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 2 DVD i586

How reproducible: Easy, just install the DVD

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert DVD into Macbook 2.1 and then click install
2.
3.

ping?
Can you try mageia3a1?
There've been enhancements to input devices detection.

1. Changing version to cauldron since we can't fix installer for released versions (that's what alphas and betas are for)
2. Is this bug still valid with latest installer? (Mageia 4 alpha 1 as of today)

CC: (none) => stormi
Version: 2 => Cauldron
Target Milestone: Mageia 3 => ---

Comment 5 Thierry Vignaud 2013-09-13 11:18:35 CEST
We may need some udev rule to coldplug input devices.
We do not include the coldplug everything rule for now
(b/c it can conflicts with ldetect-lst when multiple modules matches the same IDs and the wrong one is picked by udev)

The 'Needinfo' was never addressed. Closing therefor as OLD.

If reporter or other sees it again with current installer you can reopen.
