Description MichaÅ Walenciak 2011-03-31 22:16:43 CEST
Description of problem:
When I try to copy or move big amount of data (let say 3-4GiB size file), copying is slowing down and system keeps loosing on responsibility until it's dead.

Usualy very bad resposibility starts when ca 700-800 MiB of file is transfered. If file is being copy by kde, it freezes completely. If I use konsole (ie mc), it usually doesn't die.

once I got even logout (as probably whole kde hanged)

How reproducible:
always when i try to copy big file onto some flash device.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. mount some pendrive
2. choose some really big file
3. copy file onto pendrive

Reproducible:

I tried to copy a 4GB file from a 16GB USB key with Dolphin.

It worked without any problems, while browsing with Firefox. Maybe your hardware has a problem?

Today I've moved to kernel 2.6.38.2 and looks ok (problems occured on 2.6.38.1).
Could it be that?
