yes, here http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/cauldron/i586/install/stage2/ is no ./rescue.sqfs 

and it's the same in the iso

rescue is now built thanks to tmb. It will be added in alpha2 isos. You can find it on mirrors now. Keeping this bug opened until iso is done

rescue available in Alpha2

rescue works in mageia 1 alpha 2.

could still be modified a little, the text with highlighted options when you go to console, could also have:
 - dhcp-client : setting up network (does this modprobe drivers too?)
 - <command>: mounts partitions
 - <command>: set up sshd for remote rescueing
