Description of problem: booting with nonfb option works fine, but the default boot entry from grub produces a lot of output of repeating text on screen. At first it shows one repeating message which is impossible to catch. Then it puts another repeating message: Failed to allocate : size : 4325376 bytes alignment : 0 bytes domains : 2 After that system brings some normal messages about starting services on tty1 and ends with "Failed to start Wait for Plymouth Boot Screen to Quit". Other tty's shows login prompt. I tried to fix this by installing radeon-firmware, x11-driver-video-fglrx, but problem remains. I am also using Fedora 15 with plymouth and graphic boot with no such issue Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): currently kernel-server-3.3.6, but problem was also with clean installations of Mageia 2 from alpha to RC releases and with desktop kernels. How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot Mageia with default boot choice

Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

(In reply to comment #3) I just made a clean installation of Mageia 2 release from DVD 32-bit and bug is still here. Before messages mentioned above after a line: dracut: Starting plymouth daemon it put this message on screen: cannot open file ctrl_shift_toggle I think that framebuffer cannot be jammed by toggle button, so there is something else

Colin or Dmorgan : Can you shine a light on this matter ? Roelof
Nothing specific I can think of. I'd focus on Mageia 3 tho'. Is the problem still present there with newer kernels etc.?
Now I am using Mageia 2 from LiveCD and it works well out the box. I think that bug is because of some missing driver on free software DVD distribution
(In reply to a m from comment #7) > Now I am using Mageia 2 from LiveCD and it works well out the box. I think > that bug is because of some missing driver on free software DVD distribution @ a m I'll close this bug report as OLD, because it was filed against cauldron and Mga2 DVD of two years ago. Feel free to reopen it if you still see it in Mageia 4* and/or cauldron.
