Hello, could you package cinelerra. A Fedora specfile is available here: https://github.com/repoforge/rpms/blob/master/specs/cinelerra/cinelerra.spec
FYI, a request for this package is done here: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2929

Comment 2 Olivier Delaune 2012-05-16 14:27:45 CEST
Indeed, I did not find this bur report by using search engine of the website. Is it normal?
Comment 3 Manuel Hiebel 2012-05-16 14:31:17 CEST
you have to add ALL for include the closed bugs or use the advanced search interface.

Comment 4 Olivier Delaune 2012-05-16 14:38:53 CEST
Indeed, the closed bugs are not included by default in the "main" search box. So, should we close this bug report or should we reopen 2036 after the Mageia 2 release?
Comment 5 Manuel Hiebel 2012-05-16 14:44:25 CEST
we can keep it open so there will no new one :)

Cinelerra can work without faac with a simple patch, although it won't support AAC encoding of course. A bigger problem is that cinelerra bundles several libraries while in mageia we want all programs to use the packaged shared libraries. Especially for ffmpeg this requires a bit of work. Some of these changes I have done locally, but for example AC3 encoding does not work (yet) and maybe I disabled AAC decoding by mistake.

Christiaan, hello,
Do you have progress?
Comment 9 Alex Loginov 2015-09-21 14:48:25 CEST
cinelerra-cv is available too: http://cinelerra-cv.org
should be packaged both: cinelerra-cv and cinelerra-hv.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

Cinelerra switched release model in 2020. Source code is no longer available and the only distributed form is via appimage.
Thus no linux distribution is able to ship Cinellara any longer (only heavily outdated versions from before 2020)

Closing as wontfix.
