In current cauldron, the boot sequence (at least with ATI cards) displays the plymouth screen, blinks out to a black screen, restores the plymouth screen, blacks out again when the DM is started before the DM screen comes up. It would look much more professional if the plymouth screen stayed up continuously and faded into the DM screen. I realize that some of all of this activity has to do with X starting, but it would be great to have some way of blocking access to the physical display until something is ready to display. I have no idea what components play into this. Certainly X, but maybe the DMs themselves. And possibly the first blink is plymouth's fault. If there are multiple components involved, I'll open additional bugs when they are identified. Just a nice enhancement for MGA3.
indeed it was 'fixed' one day for me (long ago) but come back again, no idea what's happen :/
it works with other plymouth theme so it can only be in our one.

it's seems that it's every time between progressbar2 and 3
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

Should this stay open?

Assigning for now, however I feel that this can be closed, the script for plymouth no longer refers to progressbar to give an idea of the age. If this is still the case for ATI card users then reopen please.
