Description of problem: After pristine installation of Mageia2 RC, my RTL9188CE wireless is not detected. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mageia 2RC 2. RTL9188 wireless does not appear under Wireless when attempting to set it up in Mageia Control Center
Attached computer to wired connection and ran updates on the system. Wireless still did not show up.
Added the rtlwifi-firmware package and adapter was then detected and performed correctly. Perhaps this was left out of the ISO?
Summary: No RTL9188CE wireless => No RTL9188CE wireless, rtlwifi-firware missing
"Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mageia 2RC 2. RTL9188 wireless does not appear under Wireless when attempting to set it up in Mageia Control Center" 1 dvd, live ? 2 that is what draknetcenter ? drakconnect ?

From DVD. Do not they both end up in the same place? Draknetcenter will not show the wireless adapter; drakconnect will of course be useless as the adapter will not be there either, it will only give hte option for ndiswrapper. The ftlwifi-firmware package is missing from the DVD.
drakconnect should ask you to install the needed package and it that was fixed for 2 weeks. (if you have online reposity enable), for drakxnetcenter I'm not sure. and since rtlwifi-firmware is a nonfree package it can't be in dvd (contain only free stuff)
Summary: No RTL9188CE wireless, rtlwifi-firware missing => No RTL9188CE wireless, rtlwifi-firmware missing
Ahh.. ok I see what you're saying. Since I couldn't have an online connection because of the wireless firmware missing, I wasn't prompted for the firmware (kind of a cart before the horse kind of thing). So this was fixed on the liveCD but not the DVD which is what I should be using. Correct?
Yes, all nonfree drivers are now in the livecd (was almost right with the 1) And if want there is boot-nonfree.iso like the boot.iso with nonfree driver, but I'm off topic.
